To cross paths, to encounter or meet someone, especially unexpectedly and for which decisions and moments must align, linking worlds, forever intertwined. It was spring when Drew’s first email landed in my inbox, an exchange of two photographers, and then a quiet pause until a few months later, me in hazy beautiful postpartum days and Drew and Miranda ready to entrust me with their wedding story. If I’m to be honest, my recall of those days is intermittent lucidity at best but I do vividly remember feeling that these two people I was excited to know, that there was a connection, that this crossing of paths was where I wanted to be. My instinct is often right around these things and so stepping into their world on their wedding day, I felt I was exactly where I was supposed to be, a place I had already known existed but only about to experience it. Drew is joy, his smile incredibly kind and genuine, he loves deeply and honestly and his mellow New York intensity is nothing but goodness, an intriguing soul. Miranda is striking in her presence, her smile, mysterious warmth, here to experience each moment, to really live it, matching Drew in her love, you feel it linger in the air, the way she holds herself, the way in which she’s truly there with you in the moment. And then their people, oh these humans, instant friends a few, a moment in time bringing two cultures together, two families as one, holding them in love and light and to witness this, to stand there with my camera in hand to tell their story, true and honest, well no better endeavor. Thank you Drew and Miranda, salud a su amor, wishing you the adventure of a lifetime filled with all the wild and wonderful things felt and known, ¡muchas felicidades!
